Why are we doing the Ascent?

In 2006 I climbed my first 14er. I was recently divorced, moved to a new state, and started a new business. I felt the need for something to move me forward…move my life forward. So with a heart-centered and supporting peer group and the date scheduled, I took my first steps toward the top of Colorado ascending to the summit of Mount Elbert. Had I not had a supporting group of people, I would not have started what has become one of the biggest gifts of my life – seeing the world from the top of mountain.

Since then, I have experienced many other failures and challenges, the loss of a close friend and my grandparents, the sale of my business, and the changing of a career. Each time, I look to the mountains for giving me proof that I can and will move through all of what life throws at me in a positive way. I have summited 38 peaks since that weekend in 2006 and decided to share this experience with 10 select few who are looking for support to ascend into something new.
