He was recently divorced, moved to a new state, and started a new business. He shares that he felt the need for something to move him and his life forward, he felt stuck. So with a heart-centered and supporting peer group and the date scheduled, he took his first steps toward the top of Colorado ascending to the summit of Mount Elbert. Had he not had a supporting group of people, he would not have started what has become one of the biggest gifts of his life – ascending through adversity to see the world from the summit, from a new perspective. Since then, he has experienced many other failures and challenges, the loss of his best friend, his grandparents, the sale of his business, and the changing of a career. Each time, he looks to the mountains for giving him proof that he can and will move through all of what life throws at him in a positive way. Nick has summited 38 peaks since that weekend in 2006 and decided to share this experience with 10 select few who are looking for support to ascend into something new.[/x_feature_box][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px px 0px 0px;”][x_feature_box title=”Anna Lazor” title_color=”” text_color=”” graphic=”image” graphic_size=”200px” graphic_shape=”rounded” graphic_color=”#ffffff” graphic_bg_color=”#2ecc71″ align_h=”center” align_v=”top” side_graphic_spacing=”20px” max_width=”none” graphic_image=”http://thecenterforawesomeness.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/19366163_10211691716320919_2741093557371055362_n.jpg” graphic_image_alt_text=””]When Anna’s husband Jason died in February 2015 during a hiking accident she was 6 months pregnant. A young widow, a new mother, a grieving wife…she realized she had a choice to make. She could let the loss of her husband and best friend consume her, succumb to anger and bitterness, concede that her life would never be filled with happiness again…Or, she could live harder and more passionately because of her new perspective and fight through her grief to give her daughter a life full of love and happiness despite the pain and suffering. She chose to fight. Her journey slowly led her back to hiking, something she had always loved to do with Jason before his accident. Through the process of training, traveling, hiking and reflecting she began to find herself…not the same Anna, a newer, wiser, humbler version of herself…and with that came hope for happiness again. With help from Nick, one of Jason’s best friends, Anna summited her first 14er in honor of her late husband in August 2016. Ascent 8/18/18 will be her second 14er…it will also be her 37th birthday.
Why? Anna writes: “Jason died at 36, he never got a 37th birthday. Every birthday I get to wake up on this Earth to raise our daughter is a gift which I will not waste. I want to lay my eyes on the Earth from 14,000 feet on the day that I turn 37 years old. I want to show Avery it is possible to choose to live life to the fullest no matter what how much suffering we endure or challenges we face in life. I want to help others on their journey to find what sets their soul on fire.

Hiking took my husband’s life, but it helped me find mine.”[/x_feature_box][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section bg_color=”hsl(201, 38%, 52%)” parallax=”false” separator_top_type=”none” separator_top_height=”50px” separator_top_angle_point=”50″ separator_bottom_type=”none” separator_bottom_height=”50px” separator_bottom_angle_point=”50″ style=”margin: 0px;padding: 5px 0px 25px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”2/3″ style=”padding: 0px px 0px 0px;”][cs_text]
